- "Oh, she's gonna sing..."
- — Vincenzo Ricci
Vincenzo "Vinnie" Ricci is a character in Mafia: Definitive Edition.
History[]
Vinnie is a gunsmith and caporegime for the Salieri family. Not much is known about his early life except that he briefly served in the Italian army before deserting and immigrating to America at some point in the 1910s.
He wound up in Lost Heaven, where a relative employed by Don Peppone brought him into the mafia. After his relative was executed in 1921 for murder and Peppone was whacked shortly thereafter, Vinnie became an enforcer for Don Salieri, and was eventually trusted with procuring arms and other necessary gear for family associates and soldato. He also has a colorful reputation as a braggart, and loves telling stories, true or not, of his various exploits. In short, a man you want as a friend, and certainly not as an enemy.
Appearances[]
From "Molotov Party" to "The Saint and the Sinner", Vinnie will meet with Tommy in his workshop behind Salieri's Bar and provide him with a weapon or specialized piece of gear depending on what the current mission requires. During "Omerta", he will arm Tommy with a Lupara as dealing with Frank requires adherence to "the old ways".
From "Happy Birthday" to "Crème de la Crème", he acts as Don Salieri's "war advisor" in a conflict that ends with the death of Don Morello. Vinnie also arranges for Tommy to carry out the murder of crusading politician Hank Turnbull on the Don's behalf during "Election Campaign". His final appearance during the game's story is "Just for Relaxation", where he unlocks his armory and lets the player take whatever they want for the job.
During the Epilogue, Tommy's betrayal of the family leads to Don Salieri and all of his associates being taken into police custody. Vinnie is shown getting arrested alongside Ralph. His fate afterwards is unknown, but it can be assumed that he was tried and sent to prison for a litany of crimes.

Trivia[]
- Vincenzo is likely based on Peter Clemenza from The Godfather. Both men are veteran caporegimes, and both help the main character with advice and weapons.
- During Ordinary Routine, he can be seen behind the bar teaching his men how to fight.
- Unlike his original design, which made him appear overweight in emulation of Clemenza, Vinny is shown in the Definitive Edition to be a well-built and intimidating man, with detailed tattooing on his forearms.
