Narrative[]
November 4th, 1938
After the bank job, Tommy returned home to a suspicious Sarah, who thinks that Tommy's hiding something from her. He eventually leaves with telling her to pack up the bags.
Tommy decided to pay Paulie a visit at his apartment to decide what to do with the score from the bank robbery; however, when he comes in, he finds Paulie dead on the floor with two in the head. He calls Sam and informs him of Paulie's death, who in turn tells him that Salieri learned of the bank robbery, enraging the Don. Sam claims to have tried to inform Paulie to flee but was too late. As Tommy asks Sam for help, Sam asks him to meet him at the art gallery.
Tommy drives to the gallery to meet up with Sam, only to be put at gunpoint by two other members. As Tommy asks Sam what's going on, Sam throws the money from the heist, prompting Tommy to realize that Sam had killed Paulie. Sam informs Tommy that he had broken the rules and now must face death, expressing regret as both he and Salieri liked him and that the Don is aware that he had spared Frank and Michelle. Tommy calls out Sam's loyalty, claiming that he's not loyal but instead scared, but Sam dismisses the claim. As Sam orders Tommy killed without suffering and looks away, Tommy grabs the associate's gun, flips him over to be killed by the other associate and prepares to fight.
Sam calls upon the entire group to finish Tommy off, claiming that the books would be open for whoever would do so. Tommy, having more experience over the others, easily blasts his way through all of the hired muscle and manages to injure Sam. Sam reveals that he knew that Tommy was tired of the mafia life and tries to finish him off himself, but Tommy mortally wounds him in the process. As he approaches him, Sam offers to lie to Salieri for his safety. Tommy asks Sam what happened to Frank and his family. Sam tells him that Frank had hidden in Europe, but was spotted by a friend of the family when he began to bet at the track. When Salieri heard of the news, he sent a crew to finish the job. Tommy asks Sam what happened to his wife and daughter, who Sam shrugs off, causing Tommy to suspect that they were killed too. As he raises his gun at him once more, he hesitates, but finishes the job when Sam attempts to reminiscence of their first encounter. Tommy then proceeds to leave without the money from the heist.

Trivia[]
- Tommy shoots Sam three times while killing him. This could be the "three lives" Sam has owed Tommy for saving him in the past.
- Sam’s death is depicted differently, where instead of Tommy being on a higher level and shooting Sam from behind and shooting him once more to kill him while he struggled to run away, Tommy corners Sam next to the balcony above the main entrance and shoots him three times dead while standing over him.
