East or West[]

- Here's the thing: It's mostly based on New York and Chicago, and is therefore probably meant to be a West Coast or Midwest (like Northern Illinois) city. The climate would appear to support this thesis as well. However, Tommy says he moves across the country to what we later find out to be Empire Bay. Since Empire Bay is located on the East Coast, it would be logical to think Lost Heaven is on the West Coast. However, it would appear Illusion Software had not intended for a canonical location on the West Coast - if one looks to demographics, city architechture and all that. Since Lost Heaven is obviously a coastal city, it has to be located right on either one of the two coasts.
- Since there are no palm trees around, the only viable explanation to a scenario in which Lost Heaven is on the West Coast is that Lost Heaven is located in Oregon or Washington (the state). But that wouldn't make any sense if one compares Oregon or Washington cities to Lost Heaven.
- What I think is that the makers of Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven originally didn't intend to make a sequel taking place in the city to which Tommy moved. Therefore, I believe they intended that city to originally be on the West Coast whilst Lost Heaven is on the East Coast. Then Mafia II came along and messed it up as Mafia II implies that LH is canonically located on the West Coast.
- Basically, neither scenario makes much sense and I think we're dealing with a canonical paradox. Therefore, it's impossible to know where Lost Heaven is located. Amathuztus (Talk) 20:27, June 26, 2012 (UTC)
