The Semi-Auto Pistol is a weapon in Mafia: Definitive Edition.
Specifications[]
The weapon holds 7 rounds, and the player can carry an additional 21, for a total of 28 rounds. It occupies the one-handed weapons slot in the weapons wheel.
Availability[]
The weapon becomes available from Vincenzo's Armory in the beginning of "Better Get Used to It" onward. In Free Ride, it becomes available after completing "Ordinary Routine".
Appearances[]
- It is the most commonly carried one-handed weapon in-game, used by characters such as Tommy, Dino, Sam (during story missions), Paulie (also during story missions), Vincenzo (during You Lucky Bastard) and Johnny. Hoodlums, gangsters, police detectives, federal agents, bodyguards, and drivers often carry it for personal protection.
- Don Morello uses a nickel-plated Semi-Auto Pistol as his personal weapon. He loses it in the confusion when his plane crashes in Crème de la Crème.
Real World[]
The Semi-Auto Pistol is based on the Colt M1911A1, which was among the most popular handguns of its time due to its excellent firing rate, accuracy, and reliability.

Trivia[]
- In the original Mafia, Tommy receives the Semi-Auto Pistol from Vincenzo at the start of Better Get Used to It, but in Definitive Edition, he already has one when the mission begins. In what appears to be a developer oversight, he draws the gun from the back of his pants even though his usual animation shows him drawing it from a shoulder rig.
- Tommy uses his Semi-Auto Pistol to kill Sam before throwing the empty gun on his former friend's chest during The Death of Art.
