Archibald Watkins is a minor character in Mafia: Definitive Edition.
Biography[]
Little is known about Archibald Watkins' personal history. Some documents in his mansion suggest that he made his living as a professional boxer before attending law school. According to Don Salieri, Watkins has been the District Attorney for Lost Heaven for some time and has been in Don Morello's pocket since he was elected.
In 1933, Watkins' close friend, City Councilor Roberto Ghillotti, threw in his lot with Morello after learning of the Salieri family's role in the death of his son. Watkins was instructed to start building a case against Don Salieri following the failure of Morello and Ghillotti's plan to obtain the Salieri family's account books, and with Morello putting his resources behind the case, Watkins soon found a number of witnesses willing to testify. He also gathered an undetermined amount of criminal evidence, the records of which were placed in an alarm-rigged safe hidden behind a large portrait in his study.
Don Salieri soon became aware of the investigation and had the witnesses dealt with. However, he also saw an opportunity to both sabotage Watkins's case and intimidate the prosecutor into ceasing his cooperation with Morello. Tommy Angelo, assisted by a safecracker known only as Salvatore, was assigned to break into Watkins' manor while he was at the theater and steal the evidence. Despite Watkins' personal security detail discovering the heist, Tommy and Salvatore shot their way out, stole a car, and escaped.
