The Prologue is the first part of Mafia. It is the opening cutscene and leads into the first mission, An Offer You Can't Refuse.
Narrative[]
The prologue begins with the credits, along with a brief tour of Lost Heaven. Then the game's protagonist Tommy Angelo arrives at the train station and carefully makes his way to the Stage Bottle Bar to meet Detective Norman.
Tommy reveals his association with organized crime and says that he'd like to escape, but it's not easy. Norman is initially hesitant about offering him protection, but once Tommy mentions the name "Salieri" he warms up to the idea. Tommy offers to tell Norman his story in return for protection against his family and himself. Then Norman requests every single detail and wants to ensure that Tommy will testify in court against the Salieri Crime Family. Tommy agrees, and the first mission begins.
