History

Police officers are members of the Lost Heaven Police Department who patrol the streets on foot and in police cruisers, driving mainly the Shubert Six Police during the early years and the Shubert Luxe Police in the later years. They also use the Haverley Tomahawk P throughout the entire game, as well as a Bulworth Sentry armored truck during A Trip to the Country. At high wanted levels, police detectives will pursue the player in either the Shubert Six Detective or the Shubert Luxe Detective.

They can take action any time the player breaks the law and may assign a wanted level of one through five stars based on the severity of the crime. Most officers use the Service Revolver in combat, but they will upgrade to weapons such as the Shotgun, Bolt-Action Rifle, or Tommy Gun at higher wanted levels and can also be encountered using the Lupara in certain story missions. Police detectives that spawn at higher wanted levels instead use the Semi-Auto Pistol or Magnum Pistol as their side-arm.

• Police officers will chase Tommy and Paulie after they destroyed vehicles in Morello's Lounge Bar parking lot in Molotov Party.
• Police officers will be present during Morello killing Joey Crackers in Intermezzo One.
• Police officers will chase Tommy during he driving a race car in Fair Play.
• Police officers will pursue Tommy and Sam after the church shootout in The Saint and the Sinner.
• Police officers will pursue Tommy, Paulie and Sam during A Trip to the Country.
• Police officers will pursue Tommy and Salvatore after the mension robbery in Visiting Rich People.
• Police officers will be present in Crème de la Crème.
• Police officers will pursue Tommy after he killed Hank Turnbull in Election Campaign.
• Police officers will chase Tommy, Paulie and Sam in Just for Relaxation.
• Police officers will pursue Tommy and Paulie after the bank robbery in Moonlighting.
