Perla's Nightclub is a location in Mafia III.
History[]
Perla's Nightclub was originally a popular theater and music hall built by Sammy Robinson and named after his wife Perla. The Club was an elegant venue and social gathering place for the residents of Delray Hollow, offering live musicians, dancing, and good food and drink. The venue became the beating heart of New Bordeaux black popular culture, allowing it to flourish while also providing Sammy with a legitimate source of revenue to supplement his gambling rackets. Perla managed the Club from her office on the second floor until her death in 1961.
Doucet's Place[]
After Sammy was murdered and the Black Mob dissolved in 1968, Giorgi Marcano turned control of Delray Hollow over to Ritchie Doucet and the Dixie Mafia. Doucet turned the theater, now renamed "Doucet's", into a brothel, putting Merle "Trigger" Jackson in charge of its day-to-day operations. Jackson kept multiple black prostitutes on hand to service his all-white clientele, with three favorites he considered to be his "thoroughbreds". He kept them locked up and strung out on heroin to keep them in line and ensure that they would perform whatever depraved sexual acts the clients wanted.
- Theresa Mayeux: Theresa was on the road to be the first in her family to attend college, when she got picked up by Merle's assholes with the promise of a paying job.
- Deborah Rouquette: Deborah worked pimp free for years until she caught the eye of Doctor Horse, who was quick to get her hooked on regular injections of his "vitamins".
- Lucy Doussan: Blessed with an intellect that could take her to City Hall, it was Lucy's poor instincts that got her running with the wrong crowd - and ended with her being "sold" to Merle for a hefty price.
Lincoln, with the help of Doucet's coat-check girl Sheila, took care of Doctor Horse and freed the "thoroughbreds", sending them to Cassandra for help starting new lives. When Jackson found out what had happened, he eventually brought in additional men to secure Doucet's while he worked out a plan to hunt down the missing girls.
Reopening[]
After Lincoln confronted Jackson and stabbed him to death, he hands control of the club over to Cassandra and the Haitian Mob. They restore Perla's to its former glory, once again making it a place for the neighborhood to relax with drinks, dancing, and live music - while also ensuring that a good portion of its earnings were diverted towards financing other criminal endeavors and supporting the Mob's soldiers.
