Also noticed something else odd, but I haven't spent much time around here lately so maybe you know, but when I click on a slideshow to expand and try to go to the next image, instead it starts going through recently uploaded images. It used to do something similar, but it was only with images on that same page. Have you noticed this or heard if it's a known bug?
Just tried expanding a slideshow, and I was able to see the next images in the gallery. I can also go to other images on that page not in that particular gallery, and if I keep scrolling right I start seeing recently uploaded images.
Did you have any trouble ruining Mafia II DE on your PC? Mine wont launch, apparently it's not compatible with Windows 7. I could upgrade to Win 10, but there's no telling how many other games or programs wont work on with that and I haven't had time to look into it.
No, it ran fine for me on Windows 10. Only thing is I noticed some lag in the tunnel going from Little Italy to Riverside. For some reason the game is stuck on max resolution. I've found it runs best with the quality set to low or medium.
Well I upgraded from Window 7 to 10 and aside from the steep curve of learning how everything works on 10, I lost pretty much everything from my PC. I had most things like documents and images backed up, but all programs and games have to be redownloded. Most importantly I lost the program I used to edit images, Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. Because it was old, it's no longer offered by Adobe for download, and I'm not even sure it would work on Windows 10 if I could find it. I'm currently looking for and trying out alternatives, but I wont be able to do much with images until I find a good solution. I believe we used to have an images that need replacement category, but I don't see it listed. I may need to create it again and add images to that so I don't lose track of them until I get things going.
It appears that there is going to be some new additions to the series, not sure of the details yet, but we're likely to get an uptick in traffic and editing in the coming weeks and months.
As you haven't been around much lately, I was just curious if you will be able to take an active admin role with all this. I'm not sure if I have the time to do this on my own. I would also like to try and recruit some new admins and moderators, though we've never had much luck with that in the past.
I plan to be more active if there’s gonna be stuff going on here. I still come on Fandom regularly, I’ve just been going to other wikis since there usually isn’t too much happening around here.
Based on what I’ve seen in other games, I imagine the Mafia 2 Definitive Edition that’s rumored to be released next week might have updated graphics but probably won’t have much in the way of new content, if any. As for the first game, I heard it described as more of a remake, and it should have an expanded story and gameplay if the leak is to be believed.
That's my understanding as well. I don't see them changing very much in II or III, though there may be minor changes that may need addressing. We will likely see the most change in the first one. I started a thread in the forums on this, once the official announcement comes out we can use that to plan how to best handle things.
I believe they did remove it around the time they started migrating forum posts to Discussions on a lot of wikis. If Discussions is enabled, you can make an announcement that’s automatically sent to all users that have visited the wiki within a certain time frame (something like 30 days).
Hello mate. I'm so sorry, for writing Tommy Angelo's page, for Failed Murders thing. I like that, because i've seen in several years on this wiki page, but later sadly it's removed, but i like that thing. I'm so sorry for that. :( And sorry, for writing the George (fake name) thing, it's an alias, and also means A.K.A (Also know as), and it's not real name, like Idiot Joey's alias is Pete. So, forgive me for that, i didn't vandalised that page, just i like that "Failed Murders" thing, because it's remembers, that Tommy Angelo didn't kill Michelle and Frank Colletti, because they spared their lives, and later they killed in 1938. So, i'm so sorry, and forgive me for that.
We only list notable murders, not failed ones. We also only list the names themselves, not the circumstances, so listing why they were killed isn't appropriate for that section. As for the dates of birth you added, we did an exhaustive search into the dates of birth for all Mafia game characters about two years ago and found no official source for most of them, so they were removed. You can read about that in the forums.
As for Tommy and Idiot Joe's alias, using a fake name is not the same as an alias. The definition of an alias is: "Used to indicate that a named person is also known or more familiar under another specified name. A false or assumed identity."
I'm Tephra, the new Fandom Wiki Manager for the Mafia Wiki. I am here to help the community and be your liaison to Fandom. If you need anything, feel free to contact me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Saying that something "could be a reference" to something else is speculation, by its nature. The name could just as well have come from the Baka tribe in Africa, but in any case, it's irrelevant information. It would only be appropriate to mention it on the page if someone made a comment about his name in the actual game.
We generally list only one real-world vehicle on the page, the one that most closely matches. I think the one on the page is a better match than the one you added, but if you'd like a second opinion you're welcome to ask the other admin here, ReapTheChaos.
