Trivia[]
- New Bordeaux police officers will use this weapon when the player has attained higher wanted levels, usually by killing police officers.
- The Sinclair Parish Sheriff's Department will also often use this weapon in combat.
- The ".30" in the name refers to the .30-caliber round the M1 Garand used, the .30-06 cartridge, which was the standard American rifle round from the adoption of the M1903 Springfield to the retirement of the M1 Garand after World War II.
- Despite the weapon's in-game description, the M1 Garand never "replaced" the M1 carbine in U.S. service; rather, the two served simultaneously, having always been intended to fill different roles.
