The Magnum Pistol is a weapon in Mafia: Definitive Edition.

Specifications[]

The weapon holds 6 rounds, and the player can carry an additional 18, for a total of 24 rounds. It occupies the one-handed weapons slot in the weapons wheel. It is the most powerful revolver in the game while has a far weaker rate of fire and range than the Pocket, Service, or Police Revolvers.

Availability[]

The weapon becomes available in Vincenzo's Armory from the beginning of "A Trip to the Country" onward. In Free Ride, it becomes available after completing "Better Get Used to It".

Appearances[]

  • From 1935 onward, the Magnum will occasionally be carried by gangsters on the streets, and by the drivers of certain expensive vehicles to deter carjackings. Police detectives and bodyguards will sometimes use them as well.
  • Don Salieri will use a Magnum for self-defense in place of his old Service Revolver from Bon Appétit onward. Oddly, he will not draw the weapon during said mission, instead using a Semi-Auto Shotgun he finds at Pepe's Restaurant to cover Tommy.
  • Detective Norman carries a Magnum, which he removes and hides under his coat during his meeting with Tommy as a sign of trust.
  • Sergio Morello shoots at Tommy and Paulie with a nickel-plated Magnum during You Lucky Bastard. He later tosses it when the gun clicks empty after Tommy corners him.

Real World[]

The Magnum Pistol is based on the Smith & Wesson Model 19, which makes it anachronistic to the game: the Model 19 did not exist in the 1930s as opposed to the Smith and Wesson Model 27, its counterpart in the original Mafia.
