The Lupara is a weapon in Mafia: Definitive Edition.
Specifications[]
The weapon holds 2 rounds, and the player can carry an additional 10, for a total of 12 rounds. It occupies the one-handed weapons slot in the weapons wheel as it can technically be fired with one hand.
Availability[]
The weapon is first given to the player in "Omerta" by Vincenzo and is available in Vincenzo's Armory from the beginning of "You Lucky Bastard" onward. In Free Ride, it becomes available after completing "Better Get Used to It".
It can be obtained early in "The Saint and The Sinner". An enemy on the top floor of the Corleone Hotel uses a lupara, and the player can choose to pick it up after killing the Morello family mobster using it.
Real World[]
The Lupara is based on a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun of unknown model, similar to the Sawed-off Shotgun from the original Mafia. Historically, mobsters favored such weapons because they were easy to conceal and offered tremendous stopping power.

Trivia[]
- When Vincenzo gives Tommy the Lupara, he mentions that Frank will know what it means when he sees it, citing the "old ways". This is a reference to how the Lupara was traditionally used by the Sicilian Mafia for settling vendettas and killing those who violated the code of omerta.
- The Lupara is occasionally carried by gangsters on the streets, and even some drivers have them to deter carjackings.
- A Lupara can be found concealed under Don Salieri's desk in his office above the bar.
- Little Tony will defend himself with a Lupara if attacked inside the Black Cat. [Verification needed]
- Police Officers and FBI agents can sometimes be seen carrying the Lupara, even though such a thing would be nonsensical. It's possible that the weapon may simply be a different type of sawn-off double-barreled shotgun.
- In an ironic twist, a Lupara is used by Joe Barbaro to kill Tommy in the Epilogue.
