The Culver Empire Police Special is a vehicle in Mafia II.

Design[]

The Culver Empire Police Special is a police cruiser variation of the Culver Empire with slightly higher speed and horsepower than the stock version, equivalent to level one basic tuning.

It's used exclusively by police officers of the Empire Bay Police Department and includes a siren, a single roof-mounted emergency light, police markings, and livery limited to this vehicle only. It is replaced by the Smith Custom 200 Police Special during the 1950s section.

Detective Variant[]

An unmarked variant of the Culver Empire Police Special which is used by detectives, can be seen in the introductory cutscene of Time Well Spent. It features a siren, while without the emergency light and police markings. It's replaced by a generic Culver Empire in the introductory cutscene of Witness - Frozen Memories. This variant is not obtainable in-game without using hacks and mods.

Influence[]

As a variant of Culver Empire, it is primarily based on the 1941 Dodge Custom, with some elements taken from the 1940 Chrysler New Yorker.

Trivia[]

  • The vehicle can be sold at Bruski's Scrap & Salvage.
  • The car cannot be modified at Charlie's Service & Repair or stored in your garage.
  • Stealing one will result in an immediate two-star wanted level on the car that can't be removed. If police officers see you driving it, you yourself will receive a wanted level until you change your clothes or bribe the police.
  • The car has no radio, and the buttons normally used to change stations are used to toggle the siren on and off. This is most likely because of it being exclusively tuned into police band. The same remains true for police cars in Mafia III.
