The Bolt-Action Rifle is a weapon in Mafia: Definitive Edition.

Specifications[]

The weapon holds 5 rounds, and the player can carry an additional 10, for a total of 15 rounds. It occupies the two-handed weapons slot in the weapons wheel.

Availability[]

The weapon becomes available in Vincenzo's Armory from the beginning of You Lucky Bastard onward. In Free Ride, it becomes available after completing Better Get Used to It.

Appearance[]

  • Since the Bolt-Action Rifle has a much weaker firing rate than other two-handed guns, it is rarely seen in missions. In later missions, certain enemies may use them to snipe the player from a distance, such as in Omerta and You Lucky Bastard.
  • Police marksmen will use the Bolt-Action Rifle or the Semi-Auto Rifle at high wanted levels to try and take the player out in the open.
  • If Tommy is being pursued by cops in North County at three stars or higher, Sheriff's Deputies armed with either Bolt-Action Rifles, Semi-Auto Rifles, Semi-Auto Shotguns, or shotguns will occasionally join the pursuit.
  • A Punk will use a Bolt-Action Rifle during Better Get Used to It before getting killed by Tommy.
  • Federal agents will use the Bolt-Action Rifle during Omerta, and several bodyguards present in Happy Birthday are armed with them.
  • A custom Bolt-Action Rifle can be found mounted in the study of Prosecutor Watkins' mansion. The player can use it to hold off the prosecutor's bodyguards towards the end of Visiting Rich People. However, if the prosecutor gets to it first, he will use it to defend himself and the player will be unable to harm him lest they fail the mission.
  • Bolt-Action Rifles can be seen in a shipment of confiscated smuggled guns stored inside the Federal Customs Impound during Just for Relaxation.

Real World[]

The Bolt-Action Rifle is based on the Springfield M1903A1, which was the standard-issue weapon for the U.S. Army at the time.
