Mafia: The Old Country announced
Today, Mafia: The Old Country is announced, which is set to be released in 2025. It is said to be set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily. The trailer is also out, then we will prepare for a closer look in December 2024. You can read more here: Mafia: The Old Country announced

Introducing the Mafia Wiki Discord Server
We are pleased to announce that the Mafia Wiki now has a Discord server, just in time for the release of Mafia: Definitive Edition. You can find the invite link at the top of the right rail. The Discord server is meant to be used as a general place for discussion about the Mafia series and gameplay, similar to the chat feature on the wiki.
Fandom plans to remove the current chat feature at some point in the future when they migrate the wiki over to the new Unified Community Platform (UCP). When this happens the server will likely become the main way for the Mafia Wiki community to gather and chat, aside from message walls and Discussions.
If you encounter any issues or have any suggestions for improving the server, please let us know.
Mafia: Definitive Edition Updates
With only a little over 2 weeks till the release of Mafia: Definitive Edition, I thought I'd take a moment to give some updates on what to expect. The Russian gaming site playground.ru gave some dates for upcoming official videos that will showcase different aspects of the game; you can see a translation of it here. EDIT: Link removed.
Also, the game's system requirements have been reported, as seen here.
Please keep in mind that this infomation is not necessarily final, and some details may be subject to change. Make sure to keep an eye on the Mafia: Definitive Edition Videos page for links to official videos when they're released.
UPDATE: According to the pinned comment on this video, the specs linked above were specifically for the preview…
Mafia: Definitive Edition Page Policy
With the inclusion of Mafia: Definitive Edition into the Mafia Series, we at the Mafia Wiki needed to find an approach that best suited our pages, the users, and fans of both games. As details on the remake emerged, we soon realized that reusing our original Mafia pages simply wouldn't work. While the new game does stay true to the original story, the changes were still too significant. Characters were getting more in-depth backstories, missions were expanded, new content and dialogue was added, and many other minor details have changed.
After a long discussion on the topic, it was decided that we would archive all the original Mafia pages, preserving them intact as they related to the original game and its content for future use by readers…
Mafia Definitive Edition release pushed back to September 25th
Citing challenges due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, Hangar 13 has pushed back the release date of Mafia: Definitive Edition from August 28th to September 25th. The good news is we will finally be getting a gameplay reveal on July 22. You can read more here A MESSAGE FROM HANGAR 13 AND 2K.
New voice actor changes
According to producer Nicole Sandoval of mafia DE for the voice actors and roles Annie Wood is NOT playing Sarah but is in fact a pedestrian voice. Bella Popa is playing Sarah. Jeremy Luke is playing Paulie. Don DiPetta is playing Sam. Robert Catrini is playing Luigi. Stephen Stanton is playing Detective Norman. Myko Olivier is playing William Gates. Proof:

Latest Details on Mafia: Definitive Edition
For those who might not be following the latest news on Mafia: Definitive Edition that closely, I thought I'd summarize the latest interview with Haden Blackman of Hangar 13. You can find a link to the original article here.
There isn't too much in the way of news about the story, but he did mention that Sarah plays a greater role in the new game. She is supposed to be "a sounding board for the problems of a made man, as opposed to the more passive character she was before". Also, the game apparently "includes settings for police presence and how they treat infractions". As for combat in the game, compared to Mafia III, it's "a little bit more lethal" and "every bullet matters". I know some people have wanted to speculate that Tommy Angelo …
New Mafia Trilogy
On May 19, 2020 Mafia: Definitive Edition was announced, which is set to be released August 28th, 2020. It is said to be a complete overhaul of the original game that was released to widespread critical acclaim in 2002, and improves on the beloved classic in every way imaginable. Rebuilt from the ground up, it's a faithful-yet-expanded 4K and HDR-ready remake that not only makes dramatic improvements to the original's visuals and gameplay. It also builds upon its narrative and adds new features like motorcycles and collectibles to the 1930s city of Lost Heaven, Illinois.
While the specific details of how much will change in the original game are a largely unknown, for now you can enjoy the new Mafia II and Mafia III Definitive Editions. Bot…
Mafia Game News coming May 19
There seems to be something big in the works over at 2K and Mafia Games concerning the Mafia Series. At this point nothing is known for sure, but is seems that there might be a complete remaster of the original 2002 Mafia game as well as remastered versions of Mafia II and Mafia III coming.
Shortly after the Mafia: Trilogy news went out, Mafia: Definitive Edition appeared briefly on the Microsoft Store, but has since been taken down. For now all we have is a teaser clip released yesterday.

Mafia III: The Rise & Fall of Sal Marcano
Available April 10, 2018, Mafia III: The Rise & Fall of Sal Marcano is a graphic novel accompaniment to the game Mafia III.
New Bordeaux is a city on the edge of the bayou and on the edge of chaos. A hazy, fictional recreation of New Orleans in the 1960s, New Bordeaux is the kind of town where violence is the only way to survive and crime is the only way to get ahead. When gang warfare pushes the city to the brink, its citizens will discover the bayou can swallow a lot of secrets. And a lot of blood.
Brought to vivid life by top comic artist Richard Pace, Mafia III features the expansive world building and harsh realism that fans have come to expect from the Mafia video game series. With an original story that tells the rise to power of Sal …
Catching up on The Mafia Franchise
Just thought I would make a quick post on what's been happening over the last few months with the Mafia Series.
- Mafia III was brought to its conclusion back in July 2017 with the final DLC of the game, Sign of the Times. At this time I have no knowledge on whether there will be a Mafia IV or not. While we don't deal in speculation and rumor, if or when there is anything officially announced on this subject, rest assured we will post it here.
- If you still haven't tried Mafia III, the Mafia III Demo is still available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.
- Mafia III on both XBox One X and Playstation 4 Pro now support 4k play. You can read more about that here
- Jessica Conditt wrote a piece over at engadget on the historical research behind Linc…
Mafia III Pulp Novel: Donovan and Lincoln’s War Stories
Before Lincoln Clay laid waste to New Bordeaux in his quest for vengeance against the Italian mob, he did a hard tour in Vietnam. In this authorized prequel to the hit game Mafia III, Clay learns the deadly skills he will put to good use back in New Bordeaux–first as an Army grunt, then as a Special Forces soldier running covert ops for the CIA.
Teaming up with his CIA handler, John Donovan, Clay leads a secret mission to take down a communist warlord on the edge of the legendary Plain of Jars in Laos. But he can’t do it alone. First, he has to win over the people of the village of Vang Khom, including the beautiful Sho. Then he has to form them into an army that can defeat the warlord’s superior forces, using nothing but his street-honed w…
Breaking News in New Bordeaux.
We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming for this breaking story out of Pointe Verdun.
Mafia III Wraps up the Season Pass with Sign of the Times.
Last week Hangar 13 released Sign of the Times, the final DLC in the season pass for Mafia III. It's been an exciting ride since the game's October 2016 release, with new stories, missions, gameplay mechanics and other cool features, it's come a long way from where it started. Their latest addition is possibly the best one yet.
Father James and Lincoln follow the heart wrenching story of Anna McGee, who's gotten herself mixed up with a crazy cult known as The Ensanglante. During the investigation they discover the shocking truth as Lincoln delves deep into the seedy underworld of New Bordeaux while uncovering the Places of Darkness used by the cult in its barbaric rituals. At the heart of it all is Bonnie Harless, the charismatically manipu…
A Lack of Joe's Jacket in Joe's Adventures...
I am playing through Joe's Adventures the second time now, and I noticed I cannot wear his jacket. I tried searching it up on google, but I found no way to get the jacket. Now, what bugs me is that you COULD wear it in the DLC, during Witness - Frozen Memories. You just can't do it after the prologue. Is this a thing, or a glitch? I have an idea of what caused it, but I am not sure it is true.
Sign of the Times Coming July 25th
Mafia Game finally released the Inside Look video for their third and final DLC of the game, Sign of the Times. It will be released at 8am Pacific time on July 25th. You can read more here.

New Steam Update Breaks Controller Support
1 June 2017
Today's Steam update has severely messed up controller functionality on the PC version of Mafia III. For PC players using a controller, you will not get button prompts. Instead you will only see a dark rectangle where the prompt would have been. Worse yet, your right joystick will be hyper sensitive, making walking, running and aiming nearly impossible.
UPDATE: (Disregard and read UPDATE below)
Ok, so disregard what was posted here earlier. If you're having this issue you need to go under Steam>Settings>Controller>General Controller Settings and click the checkbox next to the appropriate controller. This will return the button prompts, but your mouse (right joystick) sensitivity will still need to be turned down to somewhere aroun…
Mafia III Character Design
Jeroen Van Hoorebeke is the senior Character Artist for Hangar 13 and worked on many of the major characters in the game. You can check out a sampling of his work here.
Designing System Driven Dialogue in Mafia III
I stumbled across this video featuring Hangar 13 systems designer Rémy Boicherot at the Game Developers Conference earlier this year. In the presentation he details what went into making all the various dialogue elements of the sitdowns and how the loyalty system and player choice played into things. I found it rather interesting and though I'd share it. You can watch the video here.
Mafia III Now on Mac
Mafia III is now available for Mac on Steam and the Mac App Store! The system requirements are high and video card compatibility is limited so check out the requirements over at Aspyr Media before you buy.
Faster, Baby! Check Out What's New in Mafia III.
New missions, new cars, new weapons, new clothing and your very own grow house. What's not to love?
March 27th saw the release of update 1.070.0 followed the next day by Faster, Baby!. With these came a host of new story content, side activities, abilities, bug fixes and other changes.
Most importantly of course was the first story expansion of Mafia III, Faster, Baby! While there's no denying the story was a little on the short side, Lincoln and Roxy Laveau's ride through Sinclair Parish was a fun little romp, filled with high speed car chases, ridiculously fun stunt driving and of course, more of that good story telling we've come to expect from the writing team over at Hangar 13.
Included in Faster, Baby! was the new side activity, Herbal…
Faster, Baby! Sound Advice Before Playing The New DLC
There's been a lot of buzz concerning the latest addition to Mafia III, the new DLC Faster, Baby! was released on March 28th to mixed reviews. One thing most of them have in common is that the DLC is simply too damn short! This leaves the players thinking they missed something or just wanting to play it again to feel like they got their money's worth out of it.
This is a daunting task because the people over at Hangar 13 decided a game as big as Mafia III needed only one save file. Not only has this decision wreaked havoc on players who've experienced game breaking bugs, but it's recently left them wondering if 6 hours of gameplay just to get back to the point where Faster, Baby! can be played again is even worth the trouble. Well, if you'v…
Faster,Baby! and Mafia III Demo Now Available
The entire first story mission from Mafia III, The Home Fires Burn, can now be downloaded free and played on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Progress from the demo transfers over to the full game, should you purchase it once the demo completes.
The Mafia III Demo releases along side Faster, Baby!, the first paid DLC for Mafia III. The DLC introduces a new narrative, vehicles, weapons, clothing, achievements/trophies and more to explore. Along with all that comes a new district, Sinclair Parish, where Lincoln will meet up with Charles and Roxy Laveau to take down the corrupt and powerful Sheriff Walter "Slim" Beaumont.
Alongside the DLC came an update that included fixes to many bugs, the new Proximity Mines and some new gameplay mechanics, like slow …
Mafia III DLC Update
A small bit of news regarding the story DLC for Mafia III. There's been a few posts on Twitter and Facebook recently that shed at least a little light on them. I find it a bit odd how you have to glean information like this by searching through social media posts looking for replies instead of them just making some kind of official announcement, but it is what it is.
From what was posted, the story DLCs will add new locations, new narratives, new cars and weapons, and even new gameplay mechanics. As of Jan 25th, they are supposedly wrapping up the first DLC and they will all be accessible once you have unlocked your three Lieutenants.
On a side note, I continue to find it odd how they keep flipping back and forth between calling Cassandra, B…

New Update to Mafia III
They released a new update to Mafia III this afternoon, here's what you'll find in version 1.060.0.
- Added License Plate Customization for the player's vehicle fleet.
- Added Gear Customization for the user to customize car performance for the players vehicle fleet.
- General fixes and improvements.
Before you get your hopes up, the custom license plates is simply a selection of 20 different plates you can chose from, it's not completely changeable like we had in Mafia II.
The gear customization gives you the ability to change each vehicle gear ratio to either increase acceleration or top speed, with an option to set it back to standard. I suppose that might be useful in some of the races, I'll have to post an update after I've has time to try them …
Mafia III Wins Best Writing Award.
Mafia III won the award for best writing at the New York Video Game Awards last night, and as much grief as I've given this game in these blog posts, I think this was well deserved. Lead writer William Harms did a superb job capturing the game's 1968 setting, giving each character depth and bringing them and the world of New Bordeaux to life for us within the game.
I can still remember being riveted to my screen as I played the opening chapter back in October, never have I seen a video game pack so much storytelling into it's opening before. Congratulations to Mr. Harms and the rest of the writing team at Hangar 13 for the win, I can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the upcoming DLCs.
Customize Vehicles, Races and More Clothing Options
For those of you who haven't noticed, Mafia III got a new update on the 20th which adds limited vehicle customization, a series of 12 car races and some new clothing options.
Vehicle customization is limited to the cars in the vehicle delivery menu, because Hangar 13 knows best what us players like to drive, so head on over to Big Rick's Custom Auto and slap a new supercharger and some racing stripes on that Berkley Executive. Be forewarned though, it's purely cosmetic, as are all items sold through Big Rick's. To actually get a performance boost of the supercharger you still need to unlock it through gameplay via the favor from Vito while taking over one of the last three districts of the game. You know, when you're nearly at the end, beca…
Joe Barbaro's Fate and How Hangar 13 is trying to save face.
The subject of Joe Barbaro's fate has been a source of debate here on the Mafia Wiki since shortly after the game was released. We've even opened up a discussion on the subject in our forums, feel free to join in here.
Conspiracy theories abound about Joe being Leo Galante's driver, shown at the end of the game, and how he could have come to be in that position. Whether I believe these theories is irrelevant, my job here is to keep our pages based in fact, and the fact is I think Hangar 13 screwed the pooch on this, as they did many other aspects of Mafia III.
Prior to the game's release, Hangar 13 Creative Director/Studio Head Haden Blackman was questioned in multiple interviews if the game would settle what happened to Joe Barbaro. On ever…
Done
Never have I come across a wikia so restrictive on the users. A place where anyone should edit, yet things are automatically reverted by ReapTheChaos who obviously thinks the wikia is his own palace. And the way he acts he is obviously a bigger expert on the Mafia universe than anyone else.
The amount of locked pages (heck even some talk pages have been locked) just proves my point.
Mafia III Family Kick Back Pack Now For Sale.
The Family Kick-Back Pack, originally an exclusive preorder bonus, is now available on all platforms digital marketplace. They seem to be trying everything they can to bring up their ratings and sales because I've never seen a preorder bonus offered to everyone this early before. It usually takes about a year, or at least after all other DLCs are released.
Personally I recommend getting it. Having the additional cars in the Vehicle Delivery menu alone is worth the $4.99 cost. The free weapons early in the game helps out a lot too.
Mafia III One Month Review Part Two: The Bad Guys.
As I sit here getting annoyed at the random freezing bug Hangar 13 introduced with their latest update to fix other bugs on the PC version, I thought I would get back to the series of reviews I had started at the beginning of the month. I had planned to write a new one every few days to mark the game's one month release mark, but I put that off to see what all had been changed with the new clothing update and ended up getting distracted with other things. So with no further ado I'll get back to it with this review on the bad guys in Mafia III, and by bad guys of course I mean the ever so lambasted New Bordeaux Police Department.
Haden Blackman and Hangar 13 gave two reasons why the police are so overly aggressive in the game. One is, they'r…

Mafia III One Month Review: The Economy.
Now that Mafia III has been out a full month, I though I would write a series of reviews covering some of the various features and gameplay. On my first playthrough, I was overall satisfied with the game, aside from some issues with vehicles and their customization, my first impression was positive. Now that I've played through it a few more times I'm finding that some of the features are downright annoying and quite frankly, idiotic. Today, I'll cover the economy.
Mafia III gives us the vast and richly detailed city of New Bordeaux, with hundreds of shops, bars, restaurants, gas stations etc., yet the only place to spend money is with the Arms Dealer. Every dollar you spend has to be done through him, be it vehicle upgrades, weapons, explo…
Mafia III - My Verdict
Having finished my first playthrough of the release sometime last week, I took a moment or two to sit back and appreciate what a great game Mafia III ended up being. I love the new open world, New Bordeaux is a wonderfully gorgeous setting that contains stunning things to look at. I thought the combat mechanics were spectacular, I felt as though I was an unstoppable force, and I could really feel the soldier in Lincoln Clay. The way he moves, the satisfaction I got from spraying anything and everything with my Hartmann, and hauling enemies over a table to gore my blade through their throats. Its safe to say that at the beginning of the game up until the final scene, I felt like a monster!
I personally think the driving is impeccable, drifti…
Mafia III- My First Playthrough Review
Mafia III tells a riveting story in a way that's both compelling and original.
I've been playing since midnight Oct 6th and I finally finished it after 95 hours and there's still plenty I didn't do. Don't be fooled by these people claiming to be done with it in a day or two, there is no way to experience everything this game has to offer in that short of time. Those folks obviously skipped a good portion of the gameplay involved and did no more exploring than was necessary. It's their loss I guess.
On top of the multiple endings, there's several ways of dealing with your underbosses, various achievements and tons of cool collectibles to gather. (BTW guys, those Playboy mags aren't just tittie pics, there's actual articles too. I, um... well …
(SPOILERS) Leo Galante's Driver
First of all, I want to say that this blog contains major spoilers for Mafia III. Go away now, if you don't want to spoil yourself. Please, don't say I didn't warn you.
Well, as we know in the end of Mafia III, Leo Galante appears to Lincoln, and his driver looks... Well.. Interesting. Many people are speculating that his driver is Joe Barbaro. I myself, want to believe that, but I don't really see the similarities myself. Here's a brighten up picture of how the driver looks, so you can see his face clearly.

Hope to see you there!
(Possibly) The First Easter Egg of Mafia III
Hello, people. Well, I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but this is possibly the first easter egg of Mafia III. Basically, here's a link to a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAHAbd72CBQ - At about 00:58 into the video, you can see woman with a purse. Don't know if it's just me, but I believe this woman is a reference to Forrest Gump. The main protagonist's Forrest Gump's mother actually.
EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gNe-Nlx4yk In this video at 11:19 (Either this one or the Mafia Game channel's video) you can see what I assume is the same woman from the previous trailer, talking in the southern accent, the same accent Forrest's mother had in the film.

Mafia III Achievement and Trophy List is Out!
Someone was kind enough to leak the complete set of Achievements and Trophies to the internet so we felt obliged to upload them here. We will get the individual points added just as soon as we get our hands on them.

2K's Gameplay Event
As many of you may have noticed, dozens of hours worth of Mafia III gameplay footage hit the internet a few days ago. 2K had a special event where they invited a group of fans and You Tube gamers down to New Orleans to spend a day playing Mafia III. I guess our invitation got lost in the mail or something, surely they meant to invite a representative from the largest fan based Mafia Game related site on the internet to this event...
Anyway, the gameplay looks amazing! I was a little worried that the game would be overly focused on the story like Mafia II was, literally pushing you from one point to the next without being able to just mess around in between. But from what I can tell, it truly is an open world game that allows you to take on …
