- "Fuck you, ou vo anyen bata. Fuck you."
- — Baka
Baka is a minor antagonist in Mafia III. He is the former underboss of the Haitian Mob.
History[]
Background[]
The Haitians didn't see eye-to-eye with Sammy Robinson, leader of the Black Mob, because they thought of him as a traitor for working with Sal Marcano. They began interfering with his operations, like the black lottery, in an effort to overthrow him and gain control of Delray Hollow for themselves. After the Haitian Mob stages an attack on the Warm Hearts Soup Kitchen, Sammy decides the harassment has gone too far. Sammy misidentified Baka as the boss of the Haitian Mob and ordered his sons Lincoln and Ellis to assassinate him.
The misinformation was arguably due to the Haitian gang members protecting Baka and taking orders from him when their hideout in Bayou Fantom was infiltrated, which suggested that while he was not the boss, he certainly was a man of high importance in the gang. Months after Baka died, Lincoln learned that Cassandra emerged as the Haitians' true leader.
Death[]
As the suspected leader of the group, Baka was killed when Lincoln Clay infiltrated the Haitian Camp in Bayou Fantom and launched an offensive on the encampment, seeking to put an end to their interference in the Black Mob's affairs. After being mortally wounded by Lincoln, he curses him, stating that the Hollow is run by a "trayi jezi", a coward and a traitor, and that black men should not answer to white men.

- Baka was the underboss of the Haitian mob, until Emmanuel Lazare took over upon his death.
- Emmanuel was most likely the highest ranking capo, or the equivalent of a consigliere if he took Baka's place.
