Alligators are found within the swamps and waterways of New Bordeaux. They are fast and deadly and can often attack in groups.
Trivia[]
- Feeding a corpse to an alligator will award the player the Bon Appétit! achievement.
- Getting eaten by an alligator will award the player the Next Time Swim Faster achievement.
- The species depicted in Mafia III are American alligators, which are common native wildlife in the state of Louisiana where the game is set. You can read more information about these large predatory animals on their Wikipedia page.
- Despite the fact they frequently do so in real life, alligators are never seen to walk on land in-game, and as such are also never seen sunning themselves during the daytime on land. This is most likely an anti-frustration gameplay mechanic to limit their deadly capabilities towards the player.
