The 1911 Special is a weapon in Mafia II.
Description[]
It is a modified version of the 1911 Semi with a nickel finish, different grip, and larger capacity magazine.
Specifications[]
The weapon has a magazine capacity of 23 rounds and the player can carry an additional 3 magazines for a total of 92 rounds. It has a much higher rate of fire than the standard 1911 with a low amount of recoil, making it extremely accurate. It occupies a slot in the right of the weapons HUD along with other one handed weapons.

Mafia II[]
- One will be given by Joe in Room Service when you reach the roof of the Empire Arms Hotel.
- They become available for sale at Giuseppe's Shop in Room Service, after Clemente is killed.
DLCs[]
- In The Betrayal of Jimmy, Jimmy's Vendetta, and Joe's Adventures, they're available for purchase at Giuseppe's Shop from the beginning.
Real World[]
As a variant of the 1911 Semi, it is based on the Colt M1911A1.

Trivia[]
- Joe claims they are the only two in the whole world, despite them being readily available at Giuseppe's Shop afterwards. This is probably due to Giuseppe being able to reconstruct the weapon given his skills despite never seeing it in person, although it is possible that Joe showed it to him after the events of Room Service offscreen. Thus explaining how Giuseppe has them in his inventory. Joe may have also told Vito these were the only two in existence at first to convince Vito to be extra careful about not losing the weapon.
- When Joe first gives the weapon to Vito, he calls it a "1911 Cole with a modified clip". A radio advertisement for the 1911 also uses the name Cole.
