In regard to the upcoming
Mafia: Definitive Edition remake, we need to decide how to handle the existing pages here. At this point we have very little to go on other than what they posted on their site:

"Mafia: Definitive Edition, is a complete overhaul of the original game that was released to widespread critical acclaim in 2002, and improves on the beloved classic in every way imaginable. Rebuilt from the ground up by Hangar 13, it’s a faithful but expanded 4K- and HDR-ready remake that not only makes dramatic improvements to the original’s visuals and gameplay, but also builds upon its award-winning narrative and adds new features like motorcycles and collectibles to the 1930s city of Lost Heaven."

We also have the teaser trailer which you can view
here.

How much is changing is unknown. This isn't just a remaster like they did for Mafia II, with a new game engine and a few new cars and stuff, it's a total remake of the game. Terms like "faithful but expanded" and "builds upon its award-winning narrative" seem to suggest that they will be adding to the story to some degree.

Depending on how the mechanics and game play change, the mission pages may require all new walkthroughs. Weapons and vehicles may have all new skins, stats, availability, controlls, etc. Characters will likely look completely different, possibly different voice actors. (I don't know who's talking in that trailer above, but it's definitely not Tommy's original voice actor), and back stories may be expanded upon. Gameplay mechanics will likely be completely different, things like driving, switching/using weapons, walking/running, etc. could completely change.

We could just use separate headers for Mafia and Mafia DE on each page, but what that may end up looking like is hard to say. I only had to do it on a handful of Mafia II pages, and it wasn't a lot of information to add. Another approach might be to create all new pages for the game, leaving the original pages as they are for posterity sake. I've already seen quite a few people on the Steam forums upset about this remake. As of right now anyway, the original game is still for sale on gaming sites like steam and GOG.

We could simply wait and see, but the longer we wait the harder it will be to clean up whatever mess this leaves behind. We may also want to protect all Mafia pages until we decide, and if we do go with all new ones, we should probably keep them locked for a while to prevent confusion.
